What is ethics?

Here's a provision of examination questions set by Hitotsubashi Univ. in 2006.

It is the sum total of those things that an individual imposes on himself or denies himself, not primarily to further his own welfare or happiness - that would be nothing more than egotism  - but in consideration of the interests or the rights of others, in order to stay true to a certain conception of humanity and of himself.

It is the sum of my duties, in other words of the imperatives which I believe to be legitimate - even if from time to time, as everyone does, I break them.

It is the law which I impose - which I should impose - upon myself; indepedently of the judgement of others and of any expectation of reward or sanction.

"What should I do?" and not: "What should others do?" This is what distinguishes ethics from moralizing.

The beautiful soprano voice of Victoria de Los Angeles really comforts me so much.  And, therefore, I've started playing this music by my violoncello, which troubles me a lot.      

Violin from Cremona

A brand-new full size violin came to our grand-daughter from Cremona at the end of last year. Eleven year old girl was much delighted with this present, as she had a chance to select this partner out of three Cremonas. Sweet and soft tone color of this small  instrument captured her heart.  Now the traditional craftwork from Cremona has become one of her most invaluable possessions. 

Life is ....

I used to say that the life is not so easy. And I realize that it is getting easier instead  as I became Koreisha, a young-old person officially classified so by the government. I often question the common practice here in the society, where people are so keen about the date of birth and the profession. It is usually a must practice to indiate both when people send a contribution to a newspaper, for example. I wonder where such a practice has come from. The vertically-structured society of this country may have something to do with it. People are so scared  or shy of making any mistake about selecting suitable honorifics or deferentials for some one to talk to. One good example is that a group of newly-met Japanese takes some time before they start their conversation. They have to have a traditional ceremony of exchanging each individual card indicating their company names and their titles there. Now they can speak, but their next task is to find out or guess ages of others in the group. For Koreisha generation such a traditional ceremoney has no meaning. I　carry no card any more with me. I've forgotten my birth date. I am now a house husband, motorcyclist, singer in a male choir, and finally cello player. 

徳島明神山ツーリング

10月4日ー5日の週末ツーリングに徳島県阿南市と海部郡美波町の境にある標高442mの明神山に行って来ました。主目的は忌部氏＝斎部氏（インベウジ）のルーツの勉強。天岩屋戸の変のとき、天照大神の出現を祈ったのがインベウジの祖神、天太玉命（アメノフトダマノミコト）の子孫がインベウジと言われている。大和朝廷で祭祀を担当したが、中臣氏（ナカトミウジ）に敗れ歴史の中に消えていったとのこと。明神山にインベウジの秘密を一端があるとのことで、2台の大型バイクで山頂まで走行。県道26号線伊座利峠から案内板に従い狭い脇道（と言っても山頂に設置されているケーブル中継設備の点検の為に全線舗装路あり）を1.5kmくねくね走り、峯神社奥の院下に到着。石積みの神殿にイノシシ像が二体。山頂からは蒲生田岬や日和佐の海、小松島から徳島が一望。ところでこの神社、あの木花開耶姫（コノハナサクヤヒメ）が祭られているのです。更に峯神社の横には’天の磐座’と呼ばれる巨石群が存在。伊勢の二見浦の夫婦岩を想わせるしめ縄がかけられていました。いやー、驚きましたね。徳島には。神話の世界が現代に生きているのです。このツーリングを企画し先導してくれた徳島ライダーM氏のお陰でいい旅・いい発見が出来ました。ご好意に感謝。

Humoresque

Dovrakがドボルザークとは知らなかったけど、Humoresqueがユーモレスクとは推測出来ました。還暦チェリストにとって１６分音符は鬼門です。それが付点＋１６分休符付きとなるとほぼお手上げです。リトミックなど無縁の世代にはCDを利用した耳から入るSuzuki　Cello教本は助かります。先日ご近所の奥様から、’少し曲になってきましたね’と優しいお言葉をいただき感激しています。ユーチューブで聞く小澤の指揮によるヨーヨーマとパールマンの演奏するユーモレスクを聞くたびに’こんなにいい曲だったんだ’と改めて感心しています。目標のバッハ’無伴奏チェロ組曲’を弾けるのは何時のことか。思えばお稽古の最初に先生が仰ったお言葉’音が出るのに１０年、更に曲になるのに１０年’を思い出します。還暦で始めたチェロ。曲になる時は後期高齢者。ビブラートはきっと問題なく天然ブレで出来ているでしょうね。今年は無伴奏第１番メヌエットには必ず挑戦しようと思っています。

飛騨せせらぎツーリング

ヨイヨイマー飛騨せせらぎツーリング・レポート

行って来ました飛騨せせらぎ街道。
8月2日　愛車(BMW　R1150RS)に跨り名神吹田SAで徳島のライダー（Aprillia600）と合流。一宮JCTから郡上八幡インター経由で通称せせらぎ街道(R472）へ。途中、道の駅’明宝’で地元名産ハム・牛乳などで充電。お宿は明宝温泉手前、有料道路ゲート前のあまご谷民宿坂本。本命あまご料理は無論のこと、坂本特性山菜小鉢のオンパレードに大満足。後期高齢者とは思えないお母さんの暖かいもてなしに感謝。いかったいかった！！

8月3日　有料飛騨美濃道路を通り緑の中を高山へ。高山では陣屋と高山屋台会館、桜山日光館を見学。陣屋では明治元年に発布された’五傍の掲示’の現物に感激。確かに切支丹を禁じていました。屋台会館と日光館では飛騨の匠の技に改めて感服。いやー、いかったいかった！！日光館を出たところで飛騨ラーメンを一杯。これも奥深い味わいでした。更に、春慶塗のお店に。これまた上品な色合いと手に持った感触に、同行の徳島ライダーはお櫃と花器を購入。飛騨は、その風土の中で歴史の織り成す深い文化を育み今も多くの観光客を魅了しているのですねー。いやー、いかったいかった！！当日のお宿はR41を下った中津川、国民宿舎恵那山荘。山荘までは山の中の細道をくねくねくねくね。ナビ任せのルート選択ミス。お風呂は貸し切状態でグーでした。森の中の見晴らしのいい風呂からは周囲の森のパノラマビュー。鶯がご挨拶にやってきました。ま、いかった！！

8月4日　中央道・東名・名神を120KMで疾走。途中、俄かの雷雨をSAでやり過ごし夕刻、伊丹の天然温泉で一風呂。ツーリングの疲れも吹っ飛びました。これも、いかったなー！全走行距離700KMでした。

四国ツーリング

徳島在住のライダーと一緒に四国ツーリングに行って来ました。

ルートは大阪ー淡路ー徳島ー阿南ー徳島中街道ー高知ー祖谷渓ー高松道ー淡路ー大阪。

奥物部のライダーズインでのバーベキューはとてもいい思い出となりました。

それにしても行きの明石大橋の上は海風が強かった。そこで帰りはたこフェリーに逃げてしまった。風対応が今後の課題ですね。

次回ツーリングは出雲大社の予定ですが、変更もありか。　

還暦の自称チェリスト

還暦祝いに妻と子供たちから贈られたチェロと格闘を始めてはや4年目。いまだに’のこぎりのめたて’を続けています。同時期にバイオリンを始めた孫娘二人は既にいい音を奏でている模様。この冬休みには小さなバイオリンを背にやって来ます。今から共演のその時が怖い自称チェリストのヨイヨイマーです。(自己紹介に代えて）
